Sunday Serenity…Bond, James Bond

!DO001HGI have been a James Bond fan ever since I was a youngster.  Sean Connery is still the coolest James Bond ever and the Bond that all are compared against.  There have been good James Bond’s, so-so James Bonds and great James Bond’s…the debate over who is “a great James Bond” or which James Bond movie is the best is fodder at our dining room table with my kids.

James Bond movies are always timely in their appeal.  Watching them is watching art imitate life in regards to social and political issues of the day. The last James Bond movie, Quantum of Solace, is no exception. Basically, the bad guys are trying to monopolize a country’s precious commodity, something more valuable than oil – its freshwater.

Here’s a great video that interviews the Director of Quantum of Solace, Marc Forster and Peter Gleick of the Pacific Institute talking about the James Bond movie and its central theme of freshwater:

And yes, I think Daniel Craig is a GREAT James Bond…

…and Sunday Serenity would be a good “Bond girl” name

  1. It used to be Oil, diamonds, water..a great subject for a 007 …the new gold standard..except we do not need gold to stay alive…
